Ok, so for my first real post i thought i'd talk discuss the similarities and differences between the two shows since there's loads of people going on about it. First of all i'd like to say that i'm way biased on the HIMYM side since its my favourite programme and Friends wasn't really for my time since i was too young. To be honest HIMYM still isn't really aimed at me i mean im only seventeen. But anyways lets get started.
Friends from New York. OK im sorry but is it a rip off for people to live in the same place. Seriously.
Always drink, never work. They live above a bar of course they drink and i dunno about friends but they talk a lot about work in HIMYM.
Ted and Ross (im sorry these might be the wrong names for the friends guys but im doing my best here). Both really lame and real romantics. Both have a lame job (WAT! Some website said this but teds job is not lame. Everyone knows being an architect is cool) and later become teachers in their field. In ted's defense he's lame in a cool way, no offence but Ross just seems a bit of a loser.
Robin and Rachel. Real pretty girls who are new to the gang get guys drooling over her.
Ted and Robin+Ross and Rachel. Lame guy and new girl get together in pilot but stay friends. They then get together in the next series but break up a year later. However they hook up a few times. But we all know that ted and robin don't get together, if that was ever where the story was going i think the show would have been terrible.
Barney and Joey. Both womanizers/ladies men. But whatever ANYONE says Barney will always be better.
The couple. Lily and Marshall and Chandler and the dark haired girl. (Quick question what is up with the name chandler. Is that a real American name or did they make that up.) But using my microscopic friends knowledge didn't the friends couple get married late on in the show, Lily and Marshall have been going out for years.
Womanizer marries the couple. I'll give you that one, they probably stole that. but i bet HIMYM did it for a better reason than friends
Well there's loads more but that's all i can do for now. To be honest i think HIMYM did start off as a bit of a ripoff but as they found their feet the show got way WAY better than friends. So what do you guys think and what would you like to see in future posts.
